Positive: Amazing location surrounded by fields and all you can hear is birds and cows first thing in the morning. There are various look out points over the valley to have a cup of coffee in the morning with stunning views. The large outdoor seating area is a bonus with a big outdoor sofa, a table tennis table and football net and skateboards. It’s all lit up with festoon lighting in the evenings and doubles your living space. Huge wood fire in the front room heats the whole house and water upstairs. Comfortable front room seating with games you can play in the cupboards. Plenty of cupboard and fridge space with extra fridge and freezer in the utilities room.

Negative: Please note: DO NOT DRIVE UP TO PROPERTY WHEN WET if you don’t have 4wheel drive and low vehicles. This was not explicitly explained by the company letting out the cottages through booking.com - it was mentioned in a booklet as we got there which is useless if you have been stuck for an hour on the steep incline to the property. It is flagged by marble walls with little room to navigate if you slip or get stuck, there is a sharp turn halfway up the lane that you have to take with momentum or you will just wheel spin. My advice is when wet is to park at the bottom. Please see my images. SYKES cottages YOU MUST BE EXPLICIT IN THIS INFORMATION WHEN EMAILING OUT INFO! Also states that there is a welcome pack of wood for your first night and there was not - reading prior feedback about the property this has been offered but not left on more than one occasion. Booklet states that there are two bins for rubbish to separate recycling in the utility room but there were none - so take rubbish with you to the bin at the bottom of the hill.
